Representing the work of professional artists who use acrylic as their chosen medium, employing a wide range of skills and techniques.
The National Acrylic Painters’ Association was formed in 1985 by Ken Hodgson.
It evolved from the concept that acrylic paint was largely unrecognised in it’s own right and was overlooked as a “serious” contender to oil paint and watercolour.
The association’s first President was Adrian Henri, the acclaimed international painter and poet. The current President is Alwyn Crawshaw, the popular painter, writer and broadcaster.
NAPA works as a co-operative. It is run by artists for artists situated throughout the UK and also overseas (France, Belgium, Brazil, Israel and Greece). It currently has almost 70 members.
Showing work in a wide variety of styles, this colourful exhibition represents the work of professional artists who use acrylic as their chosen medium, employing a wide range of skills and techniques.
This will be the association’s 32nd annual exhibition.
